Muscle pain and sleeplessness

Muscle pain and sleeplessness

Fibromyalgia is a painful condition that affects the muscles and joints and is seen in only 3-6% of the general population in the world. It’s generally seen more in females than males with a ratio percentage of 9.1 according to the College of Rhumatology and is commonly diagnosed in females between the ages of 20-50 though it’s been noted that the onset happens in childhood. This is not a life-threatening disease though the degree of pain in the condition can vary day to day with periods of flare ups and remission. The disease is being argued and viewed as non-progressive, but that’s a point that remains in limbo.

This is a problematic issue that can be a reason to keep someone up at night because the pain can be unbearable with the tingling and achiness in the muscles. This drives many who deal with this to endless and chronic deprivation of sleep. Those who suffer fibromyalgia also note issues with memory and other neurological issues, but the most frequent is the issues with sleeping that individuals go through when they deal with painful, annoying flare-ups.

Retirement Plans - Make a plan and Work

Retirement Plans - Make a plan and Work

Being ready for retirement is not something that just happens.  Every single person you see in retirement today that is enjoying a leisurely life in their golden years are where they are because they planned for it.  The first question that may come to mind is when the right time to start planning for your retirement might be.  The answer is that if you are asking the question, it’s the right time.  You really cannot start planning too soon.  If you could start putting money back for retirement as early as right out of high school, that would be just that much more time you have to build up a really comfortable retirement nest egg that will serve you well when you need it in your golden years.

Important Mind Control Techniques for Tennis

Unlike what I am sure you are thinking we are not going to set out to perform voodoo on our opponent, nor are we going to try to control them through some ancient form of telepathy.  Rather the goal is to improve how you approach each game from a mental standpoint so that you can be much more successful. This means that you should approach each and every game with a successful and positive attitude in order to truly find success on the tennis court.

The first thing that you always need to do is ensure that you get plenty of sleep before a match.  While the idea of staying up late to practice may sound great, you will be causing yourself problems with actually paying attention at the game itself.  This is not a wise decision.  In order to remain calm and follow a well-developed playing strategy you need to ensure that you have gotten the rest that you need.  Someone who is tired is not going to be as mentally sharp as someone who has gotten a good 8 hours of good sleep.

History of Teddy Bears

History of teddy bears

Teddy bears all started because Theodore Roosevelt refused to shoot a bear, which in the end got him the nickname “Teddy.” Yes, it is true there were toys that had bears on them, but they did not actually have stuffed teddy bears before 1902.  There are a few different stories to what actually happened, but it sounds like Theodore Roosevelt went out hunting and never ended up shooting anything. The men he was with wanted him to take something back for his troubles and found a small bear cub and told him to shoot it. I’m not sure if he didn’t want to shoot it because it had no mother, was injured, and tied to a tree or just because of its size. When he refused to shoot the bear they all joked about it, one man even drew a cartoon of “Teddy” with a bear cub.

Healthy weight gain for pregnancy

Most doctors will tell you that you should gain anywhere between 25-30 pounds through out your pregnancy.  You should aim to gain about 3.5 pounds during your first trimester, although more often than not most women find that they lose weight their first trimester.  The culprit to this is morning sickness.  Some women suffer from such a severe case of morning sickness they can not keep anything down.  Chances are your doctor will not be too concerned if you lose a few pounds that first trimester as long as you gain steady throughout the next two trimesters.

Your second trimester is where you will probably put on most of your weight.  Most women put on about a pound a week, so roughly four or five pounds a month which brings their second trimester weight gain to about 12-15 pounds.  Some women put on more while others put on less.  Do not be surprised if you put on a lot of weight one month and not so much your next.

Golf Tips for Winter

Learning to play golf is sometimes a rather difficult process.  However if you live somewhere where it gets rather cold you could be looking at some huge problems in terms of practicing golf when the weather turns icy cold.  However, if you work on building a game plan before the weather gets icy cold you could still be able to practice your golf skills no matter what time of year it is.  This would allow you to continuously work on improving your golf game year around, rather than only when the weather is warm outside.  Your other alternative would be either moving or vacationing in an area each winter that is not only warm, but has several great golf courses as well.

Bird Watching in Rome - Georgia

Bird Watching in Rome - Georgia

Another place where you can do some bird watching is in Rome, Georgia. With a total land area of 59,000 square miles, you will get to encounter one of perhaps 300 plus bird species that have made this place their home.

Just to give you an idea of this state, Georgia is divided into 6 natural regions namely the Atlantic Coastal Plain, the Gulf Coastal Plain, the Piedmont, the Blue Ridge province, the Ridge and Valley province, and the Appalachian Plateaus. Given that each is different from the other, it is no wonder that it can house a varied number of species.

Of the more than 300 species, 160 of them are permanent residents of this vast land. The others migrate here and these can often be seen during the winter.

Along the coast, you will to see the Anhinga, Black Crowned Night Herons, Clapper Rails, Egrets, Least Bitterns and Wood Storks. Along the shore, you will see Dunlins, Common Snipes, Spotted Sandpipers, Sanderlings and Semipalmated Sandpipers.

Safety Issues Regarding Laser Hair Removal

Safety issues regarding laser hair removal relate to both clients and technicians. These safety issues are very different than those involving other forms of epilation.  There are no concerns of drawing blood, contaminating probes, or risking infection.  However, there are concerns regarding burns and eye safety.  Several organizations have laid down guidelines to ensure the safety  of both the clients and technicians. These organizations include The Occupational Safety and Health Administration, The American National Standards Institute, The Food and Drug Administration, The Center for Devices and Radiological Health, and The Society for Clinical and Medical Hair Removal.

All laser hair removal devices in the United States are subject to very strict mandatory performance standards.  They also must meet the federal laser product performance standard, which includes specifying their safety features, both for the benefit of the patient and technician.

It is best to purchase new laser hair removal equipment.  If used equipment must be purchased, it should only be bought from a qualified distributor with the assurance that it has been thoroughly checked and serviced.  The equipment should also be guaranteed..

The US Mayors Climate Protection Agreement on Global Warming

Protection Agreement on Global Warming

When the dust settled on February 16, 2005, 141 countries had ratified the Kyoto Protocol and put it into effect.  The United States was not one of those countries who saw fit to join together to stop global warming.  Many citizens were disappointed, but one US Mayor decided to do something about it.

Mayor Greg Nickels was serving his second term in Seattle when the Kyoto Protocol went into effect.  He was concerned that the US should do something, and, failing that, that he should do what he could.  He devised a plan to enlist other US Mayors to make the changes that were needed to reduce global warming.

Mayor Nickels sent out a challenge to mayors across the country urging them to start implementing the changes that the Kyoto Protocol demanded of its member nations.  The idea was that if a grassroots network could be built to prevent global warming, it would essentially do the same job that the government was shirking by not ratifying the Kyoto agreement.
